Hi @siro.wu . I’ve sent you a DM.
For anybody else wondering, I’m still teaching, primarily through Zoom. I have some regular students, but I am happy to give lessons in an à la carte fashion. There is no requirement to book a regular lesson time or a term/block of lessons. Lessons can be recorded and uploaded to a private YouTube playlist for reference/review.
I will never use any footage from lessons for any other purpose without your permission and I will delete lesson videos on request (with the understanding that this means that they are gone forever and cannot be recovered).
I am willing to try other methods of delivery for students where this is not suited (scheduling conflicts due to time differences, unreliable access to internet connections, language difficulties, etc).
Anybody who wishes to schedule a lesson can contact me through the forum. It’s usually best if students can send me video of their playing before starting lessons with me. There’s no requirement to do this, but if a student chooses not to send videos, I may need to spend a portion of their lesson time observing their playing. I can simply provide a better service to students who provide video.
For the picking hand, I need a front facing angle with the entire picking arm in view and something resembling the CTC magnet angle (you do not need a magnet, just something approximating the down the strings angle). For the fretting hand, I need a a front facing angle with the entire fretting arm in view.
Don’t worry too much about what to play, just play something you find easy and something you find hard. Please, do not stress about getting “good takes.” I need a representative sample of your playing. Every mistake you make gives me information that helps me to help you.
Anybody who is interested in booking a lesson can contact me through the forum, I can share my email address through private messages.
I’m also happy to jump on short Zoom calls (10-15 minutes) to demonstrate some things. I’m happy to answer some questions, but I won’t get into lesson territory. All you have to do is contact me and introduce yourself, and we can set something up.
