Looking for feedback on synchronicity seminar

Good day,

I am interested in purchasing Synchronicity but I would like to hear some opinions on it. I have purchased some of Troy’s products in the past, and while they are all high quality some suited my needs greatly (The primer), but others were overwhelming ( the malmsteen seminar), so I want to make sure this is something that will benefit me.

Cheers.

Aloha,

Once you have tremolo motion going, Synchronicity should be your next stop as it will cover accenting and chunking in preparation for hand sync on one string. After that it will be utilizing a picking strategy based on escape motion (Volcano for USX/Malmsteen per the example you cited) and getting musical with your speed

Thanks Austin. My tremolo, sync, and escapes are good. I am wondering if there is material that would be new to an intermediate player. Like the pick slanting was a revelation three years ago, and a total game changer.

More along those lines. Like dare I say…”secrets” ha ha. Like a sync trick I have never seen or thought of before.

I think I may have not been clear in my Malmsteen crtique. I have been working on his material for several years now so I know the Yngvie technique commandments well.

I just wasn’t happy with the way that material was taught. It was taught so fast and not what i was expecting. I was hoping for something more along the lines of the style Of Chris’s Brooks and Tom Howard.

So I guess I am wondering is it a methodical approach with new material beside making sure the 6s pattern is locked in because I have that down. It is when I do long phrases even with chunking and accents I get lost in the mix.

With a membership you can review all materials. Perhaps studying USX via McLaughlin or Antigravity for odd note per string techniques

Where can I find the Malmsteen seminar?

For me Synchronicity has been excellent. I’m fairly convinced that hand coordination is among the biggest problems that has limited my progression for years and it gets exactly at that issue. @tommo 's teaching is really excellent and logical and it all makes sense organically. Highly recommended.

I’d recommend Pickslanting Primer to find motion and get tremolo going with tests and tutorials then go to Synchronicity core concepts for sync then submit a technique critique if you are unsure of your escape. Once escape is known you can develop your strategies

Thanks Sully. That is what I wanted to know. I decided to go for it.

Synchronicity is spectacular and worth every penny. So much good practice material. Tommo is hilarious and a fantastic CtC instructor. Check out Metronomic Rock as well. It shatters the “I can only do USX” mythology.
