Magnet: Logistical/Setup Issues

Wasn’t sure what section to put this in, but I just got The Magnet. This isn’t a complicated device, so I don’t think I’m doing things wrong… but perhaps. My 2 issues are:

  1. The phone is slick, and the rubber pads of the magnet aren’t very grippy, so as I’m playing, the phone will slowly (and sometimes quickly) slide around in a bad way. I do have an iPhone cover, but it’s slick as well, so I just take it off.

  2. Once the phone is situated in the magnet, I can’t lock the autofocus where I need it (nor adjust some other settings). The magnet is quite literally blocking the areas I need to tap.

Any ideas/input would be appreciated here. I feel like a doofus.

It takes some trial and error, I had some trouble initially too but got it to work reasonably well. My case has spme texture and maybe that helps here, but I gound just sort of swueezing it around the phone went a long way. And, for me, the hardest part was unlocking the phone once it was mounted as it was hard o consistently get it on with the rear facing camera uncovered. I did about half the time, but also found it was easier to just unlock it and then mount it.

I’m doing better since my OP. I’ve got it staying put, but it’s still a bit tricky getting it to autofocus where needed. I essentially don’t know if I nailed it until I finish and review the video.

Not a huge deal. I’m getting it right enough of the time for diagnostic purposes.
