Metronome and Notes Per Second Math Spreadsheet

I created a quick spreadsheet for the math involved in figuring out note per second of a specific beats per minute tempo of the number of notes per beat.

This is the first spreadsheet I have done, let me know if it doesnt work correctly.

I am in no way advertising for this metronome, but funny enough it was the only one I have found that does Higher BPM settings. In conjuction with the adjust speed overtime by 1 bpm after a period of time this metronome is one of the best metronomes I have ever found.

For the sake of going to in depth I will describe why this can help really pinpoint your speed, and where your technique is changing pretty precisely.

So without going into the math since you can use the spreadsheet.

Say we are playing sextuplets at 100 bpm, this is close to 10 notes per second. And our goal is to get to 12 Notes per second which is 120 bpm. In between these two ranges we only have 20 settings to work with.

If we go into the higher range and play one note with the click the range for 10-12 is 600-720.

So now ask yourself this question which do you think would be a better area to work in 100-120 with 20 settings or 600-720 with 120 settings?

This helps me with my playing so figure I would pass on this to someone else who needs to work on those pesky few measures of a song.
