After frantically speed reading I see no gossip on if Mangini was “allowed to resign” (corporate speak for “FIRED”) or if he quit.

I don’t know for sure, but I can’t believe Mangini would quit of his own volition. I did know Portnoy was back on friendly terms with Petrucci and Rudess for the past couple of years, at least, so the writing’s been on the wall. Still shocked, though. haha

Can we get Geoff Tate, Chris DeGarmo, and Scott Rockenfield back in Queensryche… Todd can go back to Crimson Glory and maybe those guys could make an album.
I’d settle for Jari Maenpaa back in Ensiferum now that Nightwish and Megadeth stole all his Wintersun bandmates.
