Well my tremolo picking has improved quite a bit as I think I have found a way to do it that sounds pretty good and feels fairly good when I do it.
It is my understanding that the idea is to start to find a tremolo picking motion that works for you and then try a single string lick using that motion.
I’m working with a Malmsteen-like sequence on the high E string that I am now trying to get faster and I have had a hard time finding a picking motion that works at a higher rate of speed.
So now what I’m doing is tremolo picking every note in that sequence.
I’m not playing each note once (which is the goal in the end of course), but rather I am picking each note maybe six times or so in order to try and get used to this right hand motion while playing a lick.
I guess I will see how it works out.
