I’m Lorenzo, 48, originally from Switzerland but now living in Finland since 2004. I have been playing the saxophone in my teen years, and after a long musical pause I picked up a dreadnought guitar about 5 years ago. Got me a proper teacher and I’m comfortable playing medium-easy fingerstyle and campfire songs 
I got myself a Strat too and I decided I’d be able to play Canon Rock before pushing up daisies. I can do it at 60% speed (I like sweep picking). I am a bedroom player, too busy with clinical work, research and traveling. No band here 
Married, 2 kids 13 and 19 yrs, and I have a jackrussell terrier 
, I am a bit of a nerd too.
Despite my saxophone history, I have always been a metalhead and I still am. While I greatly enjoy almost all kinds of music, nothing gives me more goosebumps than a fast-paced thrash metal piece, or alternatively an early 90s’ neo-classical solo.
I really enjoyed the cracking the code series, and decided to build up speed and technique using the best advice available. This seems to be the right place !

… The alternative picking “up-down-rotate” etc is really cool and I never had thought about it this way. I also read in the forum about muting issues other have (… and I have the same hahaa !)
