NGD: Charvel 605XL in Red Pearl

Got this honey bunny in a trade last night. Neat 'n Tidy with a bit of fret wear and one tiny little ding in the finish plus the usual pick scratches. All original parts with the Schaller-made bridge and the active mid-boost. I think this dates the model to 1991. Plays very nicely and it’s just begging for Vivian Cambell licks. Sexy!

It might be a 1991 model, but that is glorious 80s metal gear. Nice find.

Oh my god man. That’s the baddest assed guitar ever. Please let me know if you ever want to sell it. It’s the same model as my stolen one.

But hey @element0s , it’s a 650xl, not 605 :grinning:

This is a fantastic guitar!
I’ve had a sparkly black one since 1992, and have played it more than 5000 hours and wore down two shaller tremolos on it. It is still one of my main guitars, and absolutely my preferred one for more shreddy playing.
What I am usually searching for in a guitar is for it to be as easy-playable as that one, but nothing really compares to it thus far

Sexy!

I really love neck-thru guitars.
24-frets, floyd, active-electronics, neck-thru, Shark-tooth inlays… What more could I have dreamed of back in those days

Tom

One friend of mine had one in the nineties,i loved the midbooster tone
Do you think that tone is achievable with an eq pedal?
I was about to buy one just for the booster
Nice axe,anyway
