When I was only doing DWPS, I didn’t feel the need to warm up my picking hand. Now that I’m practicing 2WPS, I definitely feel the need to. Can anyone relate to the experience?
Can’t really speak to needing to warm-up for specific techniques, but in order for me to play my fastest and best I definitely need to get warmed up for it.
Alternate picking or two way pick slanting have a smaller gap for error, vs single escape.
Thats why I prefer USX personally, but I’m always obsessed with alternate as its just harder n I want to perfect it because… I’m a guy I guess lol
Most warming up is locking into finer n finer movements, same for lifting weights, lifting weights has an extra aspect of checking your movment feels strong and good, so you don’t put a load on your muscles when they may be out of line in some way.
In terms of picking its just getting the nervous system firing in ever more finer movements.
After all, most of what we do in day to day life are quite unfouced big movements that don’t require much fine detail.
Getting up in the morning is a good example of how your nervous system gets lax and needs tightening up to work well.
Warming up does have to do with heat as well, when you’re cold you feel less.
