For those not in the loop already, Nuno Bettencourt suffered a serious knee injury from a non-contact incident in a basketball game on a recent Monsters of Rock cruise. Nuno spoke on video today, linked below. It’s an emotional post, but the upshot is that for a variety of reasons, he wants this turn of events (which he takes responsibility and is profusely apologetic for) to have as little effect on Extreme’s 2023 touring schedule as possible.
Obviously he’s concerned with how cancellations could affect the livelihoods of others, and who knows what kind of behind-the-scenes contractual factors could play into this as well. That said, I really hope forging ahead doesn’t end up biting him in the ass health-wise in the long run.
