Palm anchor point- do you move it or move the pick angle?

Do we genrally keep the same Anchor when going down to the higher strings?

Like if im doing a 6note per string ascending run where i go from Low E string all the way down to High E string

And i have a downward slant or Usx motion

I personally find that the anchor where the back part of palm “pizza form ” bone (i forgot how to spell it lol)- somewhat gets in my way when playing the higher G B and E strings

And i mentally and physically freeze out for a short amount of time.

So how do you guys think about the anchor points- do you always “glue” your palm at One spot to make motion from that point or keep it more free as you progress to the higher strings?

It doesn’t matter how it’s spelled, the name forevermore is now “pizza form”.

I think you’ll find the anchor point shifts, even if just a little, among most wrist players. If you use precisely the same anchor on the low E as the high E, your hand will be deviated to a likely uncomfortable degree on the high E. If you slide your wrist down a little, it’ll probably feel better.

But you are mentioning USX and downwards pickslanting: video would be helpful here.

I think this probably varies slightly with hand size but that you’d need really huge hands to do pure wrist tracking with no shift whatsoever.

I personally anchor with the scaphoid bone rather than the pisiform bone for my style of picking, plus a little bit of a “meat” of the thumb.

String tracking I mostly do from the elbow, moving the anchor, with a USX picking style.
