I don’t mean to flood with Paul Gilbert interviews, but this one is so good. It’s like the quintessential guitar geek deep dive. I love not only how self aware Paul seems to be, but how excited he seems to be to share his ideas. So glad we live in a time where technology allows these kinds of niche conversations to be shared with a wide audience.

And credit to Tom Quayle for being musically sophisticated enough to motivate Paul to take the conversation into deep water.

Something that really scares me / inspires me about this interview is how damn good every little riff he plays sounds!

Edit: it’s like there’s no doubt in his hands and it’s clear he’s enjoying every note he plays. Damn!

I’ve watched this one a few times, especially the second half when he’s talking about how he sees and hears the fretboard. It’s a really great interview.
