Hello I am working on breaking down the minor pentatonic into small chunks to identify my strengths and weaknesses. So far I’ve worked up to being able to play 2nps just under the shred zone around 150-160 range using USX. When I play e minor pentatonic on the g 12/14 and b 12/15 I use the pointer ring and pointer pinky fingers respectively. When playing the g and then the b my hand and fingers either spasm or freak out or all of the above haha! Is this a matter of just having not worked out those muscles in the consecutive order enough at a consistent pace? Any advice on getting over this or alternative methods to work on to help improve. Thank you in advance!
Hi!
If you were to play the same line but legato, how would you play it and how does it feel?
Also, a video would probably be more revealing than any description in text.
It feels very fatigued after a few attempts. The strain or fatigue feeling is right in the middle of the “V” between my left pinky and ring finger if that makes any sense.
Try using 13 and 12 combinations. Anatomically, fingers 3 and 4 are linked pretty strongly, so that could be a reason why your fingers feel that way. @Tom_Gilroy has a lot of good information on this.
