Picking Hand keeps hitting volume knob

I THINK he and I have talked about this, but it’s a dead ringer for my '97 American Standard, just with a rosewood board vs my maple. So I’d imagine it’s a similar vintage?

It’s funny, back in the day I wanted a “cleaner” silver than Inca silver, something without the green-gold overtones, but that was all Fender offered at the time… and these days, almost 30 years later, I see an Inca silver strat and just get warm fuzzies.

I’ve been told often enough that I can make anything sound like a Strat, and my theory has always been that this is because I spent my formative years woodshedding on a Strat, and the way I hit the strings and whatnot was all just sort of developed by responding to the way a Stratocaster responds to your touch. This makes perfect sense to me.

Yeah I think it was called American standard (or similar), and my father gifted it to me in 1999. The Headstock back plate says “Fender, Corona, California”, while the headstock just says Fender Strat made in USA.

The volume knob says haha you can’t avoid me forever.

Yup, and a serial beginning something like F98 or F99? Absolutely love mine, and I think it’s cool as hell you have her rosewood sister.

The volume knob has never bothered me though. Although, I do sort of have my pinkie curled back a little while playing, which is probably a product of the guitar.
