I’ve been playing for over 20 years, self taught.
About 2 years ago i’ve stumbled upon cracking the code and watched it all. Then i’ve started noticing how i’m picking with my right hand (maybe i was UWPS, i don’t even remember at this point).
I’ve tried to apply this DWPS, and after months of trying, something that i can’t explain broke in my picking technique. Something like i forgot how to alternate pick properly.
My biggest issue is straight up alternate picking more than 4-6 notes on one string at speed (130bpm+)
Something breaks after my right hand goes to auto mode, and i start doing wrist flexion instead of deviation and some rotation.
This resulted in 2 years of on and off watching videos about alternate picking and practicing.
Sometimes i have a eureka moment where i “understand” what the problem is, change the technique slightly and it feels great really slow, but then when playing faster than 110-120 bpm it just happens again.
I am beyond frustrated right now.
