Got a question for you guys regarding this. How do you handle sweeping direction changes when not using legato? For example the 4 string arpeggios in the intro solo to Beyond the Dark Sun. Do you flick your pickslant into the opposing direction on the G string, after which you play the D string with a downstroke and continue on back to the high E? I’m looking to get arpeggios right at last, since my usual technique was kinda crappy: I would sweep until the G string which I would then hammer on, and during that, move my pick to the D string, ready to sweep upwards again.

That’s what I do, actually regardless usually of the amount of strings in the sweep (when there is only one note on the lowest string) I switch the slant on the penultimate string so that I can start with a downstroke on the lowest string again.
I believe Teemu plays it the same way if you look closely here or go frame by frame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMBeig5RD0I

Cheers, seems like the way to go. Now to just practise it, 2-way pickslanting really is amazing.
