Pickslanting Primer

Hi there,

I’ve got one basic question.
I’m currently studying with the Pickslanting Primer method and one thing bothers me.
How am i supposed to mute the strings to play it clean?
My palm rests on the bridge so i can’t find a way to mute the non-playing strings.
Should i mute them with my left hand?

Thanks guys ^.^

Yup, mute the strings below what you’re playing with the left hand and mute the strings above with your picking hand. I’ll often use the spare fingers of my picking hand to kill unwanted string noise in the higher strings during leads and whatnot too.

Usually the picking hand mutes the lower strings below the played string and the fretting hand fingers mute the higher strings above the played string.

Paul Gilbert has a lesson on YouTube about muting techniques.
