RDT Low E String

What’s the best way to handle playing fast on the low E string with RDT? The problem I’m coming across is losing the reference point or anchor. I’ve tried moving the hand down onto the actual bridge. This works fine but kind of awkward going between this and palm muting. The other thing I’ve tried is just always palm muting the low E (which is I think what PG does). This works well too but what if I want to play without palm mute?

Anyway, just wondering if this is a problem for anyone else?

What’s your bridge? If it’s close to the body I think this is easier; if it’s a carved top and/or a TOM bridge it becomes trickier.

I mostly play on a Les Paul but this happens on my RG as well (EDGE tremolo)
