I may be making too big a thing out of the anchoring. Like everything guitar, there’s like a million ways. I thought that anchoring on the bridge made sense as a starting point, though, especially since I believe Troy mentioned it in the Primer.
It’s true to say that I didn’t think about anchoring actually. It was my hand that choose anchoring place, not me. While playing I may switch between palm and fingers. And there is another technique that requires me to use anchoring close to that of MAB.
So, I guess, you shouldn’t worry much about anchoring. I think it’s more a result of your playing habits than the reason.
