Ok, so I’ve never actually heard of Samy before until he recently played two Children of Bodom tribute shows with the original lineup which utterly impressed me. I was very sceptical of those shows because it’s damn hard to find someone replacing Alexi and remaining faithful but goddamnn did he do an amazing job. There is a full recording of one show on YouTube in pretty decent quality, check it out if you’re a Bodom fan.
Anyway, I then checked out Samy’s socials and I’m pretty impressed by his playing:

That would be my guess, looks mainly wrist with a significant amount of finger motion too and then perhaps a little forearm? Feels like USX players are commonly great at combining varying degrees of all of the above
