Save Yourself - Michael Schenker

Hey all! First time posting in this topic. I recorded this cover of the intro for Save Yourself by Michael Schenker (specifically the Macauley Schenker Group).

A few years ago, I decided to explore more pentatonic based soloing ideas. Schenker’s style is one I gravitated towards the most, along with players like Bill Steer from Carcass.

I know there isn’t much right hand work here aside from a lot of two string sweeping, but it’s definitely a trill workout for the left hand!

always my fave Schenker solo. Super emotional song plays right into Mike’s strengths

modulation feel is setup right from the intro with the 4 minor chords
