I note that most guitarists that come into Troy’s studio seem to use their own guitars, and this makes it difficult to determine how much they displace the strings and how loud they are (unplugged). I was thinking that it might be interesting to have them play on a reference guitar a little bit to get an idea of the output power of their picking, and also to roughly rank them about how loud they are unplugged. (For example, are they about equal volume, are some really loud, etc.)
The reason that I ask is that I think that I am playing too loud (unplugged), and now I’m trying to be quieter, but the problem comes up to, “how quiet?” I would be really curious to know if the masters are louder or quieter than I am.
