Still having trouble with downward pick slanting

Try flexing your wrist. When you rest the palm on the strings it is difficult to get enough air to excape the string with downward pick slant/UX.

Hey @ToddRuizGuitar! Let’s take a step back!

Can you show us your fastest tremolo on a single string? We’ll take it from there

Thank you for posting @ToddRuizGuitar! Long story short, I think you are putting a lot of attention on “doing DWPS” - but then the motion you are using is not really the “correct” one for that gispy-jazz hand position (the correct motion path would be USX = upstroke escape).

But worry not, we’ll fix it

Since you are a subscriber, I’d suggest as a first step to look at the section below and do the various hand speed tests that Troy demonstrates in there - let us know what tempos you manage with the various tests, that would be very useful information.

Afterwards, do the tremolo test again. But this time don’t try to enforce any particular “form” on your technique. Just bang on a single note as fast as you can with whatever hand position / pick grip / motion makes that possible.

Keep us posted
