I’ve been working with the dsx style picking, and I’ve been working with Tommaso’s lessons for pentatonic scales and the Gilbert sixes. I’m still having trouble with speed. I have videos out, any help would be great

Hey man! Fellow DSX’er here! I checked out your videos, good stuff, looks and sounds like you’re making great progress! Now keep in mind that I am nobody - but I have suffered a bit in my quest to try and get my picking together so maybe these points can help!
Make sure that your tremolo picking form and your 'scale picking" form look and feel the same. I feel this is probably overlooked, folks are like “ok, I can tremolo pick - neeext!” But really, the key things to pay attention to are the form’s look and feel. In my opinion. lol it took a lot of trial and error to arrive at that conclusion, no lie…
I had a lot of success with doing “even note per string” tremolos, starting on an upstroke 6NPS, 4NPS and 2NPS. repeating notes with focus on the picking hand, if that makes any sense?
Repeating the sequence on a single string, and then working it between two, then 3 strings and then string skipping I find really help cement an idea.

Thank you! It was very helpful. For some strange reason, I had forgotten to add that part of the process. As you suggested, I started with a single string (the A), then two, ect. Once I was playing it smoothly again, I added the doubles where it applied, then the started to add the low E. Ascending seems better than descending, but I’ll fix that. Once I get the kinks out I’ll post video again. Thanks again for the reminder.

Awesome! It’s actually pretty interesting how everything ties in together, “one step leads to the next” sort of thing, but really obvious stuff doesn’t seem so obvious until after the fact! hah! Ask me how I know! Anyways, it takes time to get warm and fuzzy with your moves! Looking forward to seeing your progress!
So now that I’ve added my tremolo picking into it and my speed has picked up,I’ve noticed that it’s easier to the ascending than descending as far as the Gilbert sixes is concerned.
