Strengthening hands/wrists etc. with things other than guitar?

Anybody do anything other than guitar to keep their hands/wrists in healthy form? Any excercises/stretches/contraptions that you use in addition to the guitar? Any exercise tools of benefit?

I never did anything in particular, but after recently recovering from a playing injury it has me wondering if there are any beneficial practices out there (other than guitar playing) I can incorporate into my routine in order to promote optimum playing health :slight_smile:

Hi there

Iโ€™d suggest eccentric exercises for the forearms / wrists but nothing with weights or anything.

Grip training (gripmasters etc) tend to do more harm than good for RSI as it doesnโ€™t strengthen the tendons /muscles that โ€˜Openโ€™ the hand and that what us guitar players need to work on.
Think about how often we as humans grip or hold things everyday vs 'opening โ€™ our hands.

Check out the rubber band Flextend thing on amazon - it works ! just dont go crazy with it.
