The analogy between fretting and rest strokes

So guitar is a lot like, “something (finger or pick) flies down and hits a wire and then gets stoped by another wire.”

Fretting: A finger flies down, catches a first wire (string), and is stopped by a second wire (fret). It rests on the second wire, and then flies up into space.

Rest strokes: A pick flies down, goes through a first wire (string), and is stopped by a second wire (string). It rests on the second wire, and then ascends through the first wire and then flies up into space.

I’m not sure if this is useful, but it really changes the way that I look at a guitar!
