2025 was a sad year cause we lost our family dog, a lovely Havanese who was the goodest girl for 18 years.
The thing is that saying goodbye still hurts, so my wife and I tried to channel our pain through music with a little song that tells a story of how we imagine dog-heaven from the perspective of the dog itself, how it found new friends in the good boys that preceded her, and things like that.
Musically, we went for a modern mix between a hip hop-ish beat and Cuban son, and I took the opportunity to drop some bars in Spanish because, well, that’s what you do in 2026. I’m not very good at any of this but enjoyed the process nonetheless.
Finally, the production was far for refined as we basically just hit the red button and went for it, and I like that it gives the song a casual vibe.
