This dying soul outro Dream Theater solo cover

This one took me a couple of weeks. The sheer stamina needed was hard but took it section by section and learned each chunk a little faster than the songs tempo. So when it came time to put it all together I reminded myself to relax and this is the result.

Damn, you got that down in a couple weeks, fantastic!!

Thanks. I have played a lot of J.P So the patterns and sequences in this solo is nothing new. It is just the speed and stamina that is the real challenge. and remembering it all

Mind-blowing! Is that all “pure” alternate or do you add a few secondary aids like legato or swiping to keep the patterns going?

Thanks. It´s all alternate picking. No legato. Perhaps some sweiping but not intentional. But if it sounds good and feels correct I try not to overanalyze the “how” and just stick to it.

Great job! Beautiful sound!
Tell me, did you choose the notes by ear, or by notes/ tabs? If it’s by notes/tabs, can you tell me where I can find them? This can be a great exercise for alternating strokes!

Thanks. I used this one as reference and used my ears. I transcribe for people so it did not take me that long. And if you have played some J.P before you will recognize a lot of the patterns.
