Trying to USX. I'm losing hope after 4 months

I have been trying to achieve a USX with wrist supination for about 4 months now and really just can’t seem to get the hang of it. My mind is tell my wrist to slant the pick, and to my forearm to rotate back and forth for the picking tremolo. Unfortunately, as you can see…

Perhaps others have been through this?

Sounding and looking pretty good in the first video!

Do you have an alternative picking technique that works better than this? i.e are you normally a DSX dominate player?

If you haven’t already, it might be useful to try some single string tremolo to a beat or metronome just to get a feel for your current speed level and comfort zone.

I was DSX dominate and tending to tilt my wrist in a reverse dart throwing motion

That looks nice and fluid to me. Keep in mind, the majority of USX patterns can easily be played with DSX by just starting on an upstroke.

The general CTC suggestion would be to go with whatever motion you already have (DSX for example) and then work on refining it.

If you just pick 16 notes (four notes per beat) on a single string is there a speed difference for you?
