USX Ascending Lick Technique Critique

Hi all,

Hope all is well. I have been working on a blues rock ascending lick, which is similar to Eric Johnson’s ascending cascading lick. What do you think of my USX technique in the video below? How are some ways I can improve upon it? Based on the speed tests, I think I am more of a DSX player but this lick seems more “USX friendly”. I’m still a newbie to this so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much all! This community is awesome!

cool playing but once again (a trend it seems) is that you are not playing fast enough, or long enough to really make a fair assessment.

At this tempo (and according to the slow version) you are essentially string hopping. I do not see a clear single escape motion being used.

Try filming some tremolo on a single string at a higher tempo that you feel is comfortable, and sustainable.

Hope that helps
