I know the old name, but is there a new canonical name for flipping back-and-forth between USX and DSX? (If so, sorry to have missed it!)

We don’t know! We haven’t decied yet. Yes, something like mixed escape or multi escape is probably where where we’ll end up.
What matters more is how we present this from a teaching perspective. The simpler the better. For a lot of players, it may simply be that no overt focus on this is necessary, aside from simply knowing that it happens. This is probably especially true for wrist players, where many good players who post here already do some amount of this and are already on the right track.
Bidirectional escape? Anyway, I await the term!
