Which muscles should feel 'activated' when doing DWPS correctly?

Which muscles should I feel ‘activated’ when doing DWP the correct way? Knowing that we should feel some involvement of the biceps or forearm muscles would be a big help and will let us know that we are on the right path.

I think it really depends on our individual motion mechanic. I tend to use wrist deviation as my primary motion. And although I can feel the top forearm muscles working, I never gave it a second thought until I just read this thread.
To be honest, for me it’s all an un/subconscious thing. I have never purposely focused on it.

Exactly. There is not a single “correct” way to do downward pickslanting as far as the muscles are concerned since there are multiple picking motions you can use to do this - elbow, forearm, wrist, and also different arm and wrist movements within those general categories.

Currently our best introduction to this is the live broadcast we did recently:

You’ll notice how radically different some of these movements can be - comparing, let’s say, various forearm + wrist motions to pure wrist motion, or to elbow motion. I recommend trying them all and using the one that works best.

I also recommend trying all the uwps motions because again, you never know what’s going to work best and whichever that is, use it first rather than beating your head against a wall trying to force something that work that you can’t figure out. You can always come back to these different motions and try them again once you build success with any of them.
