Wish I knew about this 20 years ago!

Hi everyone

Where are you in your guitar journey?

  • I have been playing guitar on and off for about 15 years
  • I’m interested in metal and progressive metal
  • I had given up on alternate picking a long time ago because of how frustrated I was with it

How have you gone about learning guitar so far?

  • I’m self-taught
  • I am apparently a DSX player  and I cannot begin to explain how liberating it is to have finally “Cracked the Code”! I used to max out 16th notes at 140-150 bps. I can remember noticing that switching strings with an upstroke was bizarrely easy but I only recognize that now in retrospect.
  • I sadly reached that peak in my playing about 12 years ago and just gave up because I couldn’t play the lead guitar parts that I always admired. I thought about selling my guitars.
  • I’ve just started the DSX seminar and I’m playing faster and EASIER than ever before. I’m just flicking my right hand now and my left struggles to keep up :upside_down_face:
  • Like I said, it’s difficult to put into words how revolutionary “Cracking the Code” is for people like me. Thank you to everyone involved!!!

I can relate to this, I almost gave un guitar because I could never figure out how to switch string after upstrokes and CTC wasn’t using the proper terminology back then, then with new and updated CTC I realized I’m a DSX player and suddenly had the answers I was looking for years, funnily enough after discovering that I’m also mainly a wrist player I have been able to develop a semi decent secondary motion that I can use sometimes aswell.
