One of my favorite tunes from Ozzy’s “No More Tears” album is “S.I.N.” Zakk Wylde plays a few tasty solos during the song, but the final lick to his first solo has a maneuver us DWPSers have all come to love or (loathe): the pedal tone.
To my understanding, Ozzy almost never plays this song live, so we don’t have any visual evidence about how Zakk approaches it. But assuming the notes are correct in the tab book (and they sound right to my ears), would Zakk likely have played it as it is transcribed, or some other way? And if we don’t rearrange the fretted notes as they are transcribed, what right hand technique could be used to complement the mostly DWPS-compliant phrase?
