I’ve been experimenting with swiping in both directions. I started using more of a zero-degree pickslanting. From what I understood, from some posts that I’ve read, that results in a double escape motion. Is that true? If so, it’s something I’m aiming to avoid, given the movements in DBX are sort of limited in speed and endurance.
To quote Troy:
DSX + DBX can be done with no pickslant
It only results in a double escape motion if you are making motions that are actually double escaping.
I wouldn’t concern yourself with any of it or at least yet and just focus on something that can go consistently fast and is some what accurate. If you feel the need to dissect it later you can.

Ignore pick slant for a moment. The tip of the pick traces out a path. There are four cases:
- starts and stops free
- starts and stops trapped
- starts trapped ends free
- starts free ends trapped
Which one?
This!
A DBX player a lot of the time will automatically switch to DSX when going really fast so you get the best of both worlds
