Critique Troy's crosspicking!

@Troy so are you saying that as of now your picking has evolved into pretty much crosspicking for most of the stuff you play? No more economy picking?

Definitely not - they’re all just tools. If you’re going to do any even-numbered pattern across the strings, or any pattern involved ascending sweeping like the Eric Johnson type fives type pattern, dwps is gotta be at least one of the simplest ways to do that.

Wait til you see Oz Noy - the guy has every movement, and uses them all. And also has no idea how many movements he has.

That’s just the way of things, different tools for different jobs.

When i look at Martin Miller to me it seems he even uses his shoulder for the stringtraking (something Steve Morse also does) and he moves almost in a straight line with very little pick slant and very little pick angle.
It is still a mystery to me how he can crosspick at those speeds without making any mistakes or hitting strings that should not be.
