Howdy
Brass tax:
Here’s a short clip with me demo’ing what my one-note-per-string alternate picking looks like as of today. No narration, front view, side view. I do comfortable tempos and increase to where it more or less locks up:
Here’s a thread I started last year where a lot of good advice was given: Critique my cross picking?
I haven’t quite been keeping up with all the latest cross picking discussions and developments, and I see now there is quite a lot.
So this post is a humble request for:
A. Any critique or advice based on what is seen in the new clip.
B. Links to which discussions and newer videos may be most relevant in helping me, uh, crack the code on this one.
I have to be practical about my use of time these days; I don’t anticipate making any great strides in a short period of time with the technique, but I’m curious for whatever time I might get, what could be the most efficient use of that time. I know there’s a lot available at this point (I’m a Masters in Mechanics member so I have access to everything, I think) so wondering what might be the most relevant for me.
I guess I could say I feel like I’m doing something that isn’t ridiculously inefficient, but it definitely does not feel like the ‘right’ movement.
Thank you very much in advance!
